Natroceutics Zinc Bioactive has been developed by combining L-OptiZinc™, zinc mono-L-methionine, with a chelated copper complex. L-OptiZinc™ delivers zinc in a specialised L-methionine-bound form that demonstrates enhanced bioavailability and antioxidant activity when compared with conventional zinc saltssuch as zinc sulphate.

Zinc and copper are essential trace minerals with complementary physiological roles. Zinc contributes to normal immune function, antioxidant defence, cellular metabolism and the maintenance of normal skin. Copper contributes to antioxidant enzyme systems and to normal connective tissue formation.

Prolonged high-dose zinc intake can affect copper status over time. Once absorbed, zinc induces a metal-binding protein with high copper affinity, which is then excreted as cells turn over.
